BCC Certification


Board Certified Coach (BCC) is a designation for professionals wanting to add coaching skills to their current training.

At Edge Coaching, we work specifically with licensed professional counselors already having earned a master’s degree or PhD.

Our certification program addresses the following required core areas to become a BCC:

  • Screening & Orientation
  • Fundamental Coaching Skills
  • Assessments in Coaching
  • Individual Coaching
  • Business & Organizational Coaching
  • Ethics & Professional Practice

We’re passionate about sharing coaching knowledge with other counselors looking to diversify and enrich their training!

BCC Requirements


To become a BCC, you will need to complete the following requirements as outlined by the Center for Credentialing & Education:

1) Education: Master’s degree or higher

2) Training: 30 hours from a CCE-Approved Provider

3) Experience. 30 hours verified direct contact (can include individual, group or organizational coaching)

4) Endorsement: 1 professional endorsement

5) Exam: Take and pass the BCC Exam

Certification Questions


When and where is the training?

Due to Covid-19, live training has been suspended.  However, we plan to resume offering coaching certification as soon as possible.  You can also send an email asking to be notified when certification classes resume.  During regular times, certification classes are offered in Charlotte, NC, Raleigh/Durharm, NC, Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC.

Michelle Ellwanger conducts the certification program.

How do I sign up?

Contact us via email or phone and we will send you a registration form. Complete the registration and return this form along with your deposit to reserve a space.

What is your refund policy?

Full Refund- 90 day advance cancellation

50% Refund- 60 day advance cancellation

25% Refund- 30 day advance cancellation

No Refund- Less than 30 day advance cancellation.

If unable to attend, we allow you the ability to register for another program date within 12 months of your original program at no additional charge.

What does the program cost?

The program costs $1200. Not included in the program cost are  hotel accommodations and food.
